Cookie Policy

What cookies we use

Strictly necessary (no consent required under UK PECR)

  • Authentication/session cookie (keeps you logged in), set by Supabase Auth
  • Cookie consent choice (remembers whether you accepted or declined the two functional cookies below), a session cookie, so you'll be asked again on a future visit

Functional (requires consent)

  • Onboarding intent cookie: remembers your answer to "what are you here to do?" between signup and your first login, so we can route you to the right page. Expires after 30 days, or once applied to your account, whichever is sooner.
  • Partner referral cookie: if you arrived via a partner's tracked link, this remembers that for a limited window so the right party is credited if you later complete a transaction. Signed and unreadable by anyone but our servers. Expires after 30 days.
  • Native referral cookie: if you arrived via another user's share link, this remembers that for a limited window so the right person is credited if you later complete a transaction. Signed and unreadable by anyone but our servers. Expires after 30 days.
  • Awin publisher-referral attribution cookie: if you arrive at our site via a link tracked by another Awin publisher (for example, a partner site recommending The Index), this remembers that for a limited window so we can correctly attribute your visit to that publisher. It is set by us, first-party, only with your consent, and only when you arrive this way. There is currently no live page on our site that sets it. It plays no part in attributing a purchase you make on one of our own merchant listings (for example, Mappin & Webb, Chow Sang Sang, Gemone Diamonds, goettgen.de, WATCH & WATCH, or Rotary UK): those purchases are attributed entirely by Awin's own network tracking on the outbound link, and set no cookie of ours at all. Signed and unreadable by anyone but our servers. Expires after up to 30 days.

We do not use any third-party analytics cookies, and we do not run third-party advertising on our own site. The Awin publisher-referral attribution cookie above is set by us, not a third party, and does not track you across other, unrelated sites.

Your choices

You can accept or decline the two functional cookies above using the banner shown when you visit and haven't yet made a choice this session. Declining will not affect your ability to use core Platform features, though partner referral crediting and personalised onboarding routing will not function without them. Your choice is remembered only for that browsing session. You'll be asked again on a future visit.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
